I liked that Carrigan got shit done and wasn't a damsel in distress. I really hated how 99% of the men in this book treated women. I get that it was supposed to create the drastic difference in character of the men but eventually we're supposed to like some of these people, right? Smutty scenes were hot.

I liked this one better than the first book, mainly because the dynamic between the protagonists was more interesting. I also enjoyed getting a better look into the internal conflicts of the O'Malley family.

Definitely thought this was better than the first book in the series. Carrigan and James’ story had so many more moving parts and intrigue!

The sequel bait of the previous book was good enough for me to push thru for the second book. But, I ended up skipping over everything that didn’t have to do with the couple themselves. All the drama and the side characters couldn’t pull me into the story because I’d already realized crime/mob stuff sets me on edge. It doesn’t feel like a romance for me. But the time when it was just the two of them - I liked that way more. I liked seeing the heroine’s vulnerability matching the hero’s. I liked their zingers to each other. I just didn’t want to be in that world or read about it ..

Thank you NetGalley, Forever for the widget and Katee Robert for the e-ARC in exchange for honest review. Not many authors except Katee i would throw away my TBR and immediately start an e-ARC.

Whew ok this is my new favorite Katee Robert/Mafia book and love we got to it quicker then in book 1. Mafia is a newer to me sub-genre and get the hype. The charactera the story qwre just chefs kiss. I love that these re-releases are getting a smidge edited and new covers that arw BEYOND GORGEOUS. Love Katee and Forever together is PERFECTION. I immediately want to read the next book.

Highly recommend to my friends that enjoy open door romance.

So I was already a fan of Katee Robert but hadn’t read any of her mafia series. This did not disappoint. Sometimes I struggle to enjoy the mafia genre because of the “woman’s place” and this does have that construct but I felt like the way it was handled was really refreshing and I was definitely satisfied by the end.

I would recommend reading this series in order as I did not read the first and felt like I missed some things, even between the two love interests of this story. This is written with some random albeit short POVs from other characters and that took me out of the story a bit. Also being in 3rd person I kept not realizing it was one of those moments and thinking it was the main characters at first.

The spice is written to perfection per usual. I loved the star crossed/rival families vibe and wondering how they would resolve it, definitely had some angst there.

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for this ARC!

Katee can write mafia and I’m here for it! I loved Carrigan and James since the first book and I was so excited to get their story. It did not disappoint!

Carrigan is such a strong FMC and James is a protective MMC but this man knows how strong she is. The whole book he is all about her standing up and showing the world who she is. This is becoming my favorite micro trope lately. I am here for a man that knows she is a badass.

The family dynamics in this book had me loving certain characters and hating others. I was ready to fight some of these characters for James and Carrigan!

I cannot wait for Cillian’s book, and I’m even more excited for Sloane book!

☠️Rival families
☠️Fiesty FMC
☠️Dirty talking MMC

Quotes I loved:

With this woman by my side, I’d be content to let the rest of the world burn.

“Hell, lovely, I’d give you damn near anything you wanted if you demand it in that voice”

“God, James. If anyone else talked to me the way you do, I’d laugh them out of the bed”

“I’ve said it before, lovely, and I’ll say it again. You’re mine and mine alone.”
