This was a quick mafia romance read. If I’m being honest, I didn’t enjoy this one as much as dark succession.

I loved Carrigan. She seemed very steadfast and fearless. I didn’t love James, though, and I think that made it hard for me to root for them. The story was pretty predictable, but also very sad and intense at times. I will definitely continue reading through the author’s backlist!

I liked the chemistry between Carrigan and James from the first book and I was excited that they were the second book. I liked how they both didn't like where they were at and how they changed it.

The plot continues and I am looking forward to the next book which is Cillian's. Although I have to admit that I can't wait for Aiden's book.
