It says a lot about the age we're in that a book with such a boring premise feels so radical. Some of this was a little too 'ra ra ra, god bless the USA' for my taste, but overall the lessons are good and there's some perspective here I haven't encountered before in similar books, like commentary on the impact of the current congressional work week on representatives' abilities to work together(!).

A number of great takeaways and a solid reminder to stay curious. I look forward to getting a paper copy of this text to pull more from it.

Given the current political climate and the results of the 2024 election this book was both so incredibly painful and so incredibly necessary to read. It's so hard to stomach wanting to connect with people you feel are so wildly different from you. But this book teaches you how, and kindly holds your hand encouraging you while you learn. I love this book. Such a good read.
