The roundabout and the continuous joke about not speaking deserves a special mention.

A good laugh, boosted by the nostalgia from reading tonnes of asterix as a child.

The story is simple, not particularly interesting or memorable, but the humour and art hold up. This is a (relatively) recent addition to the series with a new author who has delivered on the tone and humour to make them seem just like how I remember from childhood, which for the most part is a good thing but as per the asterix formula, its full of jokes based on stereotypes (in this case about scottish people) which can feel a bit dated and unoriginal.

English follows:

Όμως, όλα τα ωραία κάποτε τελειώνουν, αφού οι δημιουργοί του είτε δεν είναι πια μαζί μας ([a:Goscinny, René|14191489|Goscinny, René|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png]), είτε, λόγω ηλικίας, έχουν αποσυρθεί ([a:Uderzo, Albert|14191490|Uderzo, Albert|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png]). Το μοιραίο, όμως, ευτυχώς απεφεύχθη, αφού δύο νεώτεροι δημιουργοί, ο [a:Jean-Yves Ferri|812139|Jean-Yves Ferri|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1446325867p2/812139.jpg] κι ο [a:Didier Conrad|283179|Didier Conrad|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/m_50x66-82093808bca726cb3249a493fbd3bd0f.png] συνεχίζουν στα χνάρια των πρωτοπόρων!

Astérix is one of my favourite childhood heroes, and his adventures consist, on my opinion, one of the greatest contributions of the postwar France to letters and art.

All the nice things, though, finish at some point, since his creators either aren't with us anymore ([a:Goscinny, René|14191489|Goscinny, René|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png]), or, have retired due to age ([a:Uderzo, Albert|14191490|Uderzo, Albert|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png]). Thankfully, the hard destiny hasn't been fulfilled, since two younger creators, [a:Jean-Yves Ferri|812139|Jean-Yves Ferri|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1446325867p2/812139.jpg] and [a:Didier Conrad|283179|Didier Conrad|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/m_50x66-82093808bca726cb3249a493fbd3bd0f.png], continue in the tracks of the pioneers!

A very nice story, respecting the spirit of the creators, making comic mentions to today's reality, and helping to joyfully pass New Years Day! Happy 2016!

Full disclosure, I grew up on this series so my opinion is necessarily biased.

I'm of the view that there is no such thing as a bad Asterix book ... but some volumes, like this one, are okay. This is the first adventure entirely written and illustrated by people who are not the original creators.

It's quite possible that I will warm up to this adventure over time. There were definitely moments that I found delightful (for example, the pictograms on p 34 tickled my fancy). But I wish the antagonist didn't look so repulsive, as I despise the Evil Makes You Ugly trope.
