I can't even begin to imagine the possibility of unexpectedly losing a partner, this short story captures the aftermath attempting to move on with life after sudden and tragic loss. Dating is hard enough as it is in this day and age, and this story shows the hardship associated with that journey though finding love, moving on, and dealing with grief all at once The title of this book is fitting for the story, a play on words that details the story of navigating the dating space after the loss of a husband.

This is as much a reflection on the process of grief as it is on finding love (again).
Funny and poignant. A woman deals with raising her 10 month old daughter after her husband dies of a heart attack in front of her. Ellis can spin some sentences and when she starts talking about her ghost husband and him encouraging her in meeting someone new, I just wanted to hug her. The story was definitely funny at times (some of the dates were a hot mess) and then of course at different times things hit her such as realizing that there were no more men in her immediate family circle. I thought the story was great and that Ellis shows she has not forgotten her first husband and how she was able to heal enough to let someone else in.

I didn't realize this was non-fiction at first, but once I did the colors shifted. Grief is something else man.
A short yet quick glimpse into the life of a widow. Presented with a bit of humor, viable options for managing grief and starting new relationships.
I finished it but skipped some parts just to get to the end.
