I've read several of Sandie Jones' books and the last couple have not been bit hits for me. This book was a domestic thriller. It was definitely a page turner but not super memorable. While I enjoyed it overall, I felt like some of the twists were improbable. Overall a book enjoyed for a bit but wouldn't necessarily recommend.
Naomi is a psychiatrist who specializes in domestic abuse; because of this, she often becomes very involved with her clients, doing anything she can to help them even if it means offering up her own home. After helping Jacob make the decision to leave his abusive wife, Naomi finds herself as the prime suspect for his disappearance. As the police investigate his disappearance, Naomi’s past comes to light, forcing her to confront things she thought she had let go of.
Wow, I could not put this book down!! The beginning was a little bit of a slow burn, but once it got going it was incredible! I read this book in less than 24 hours because I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. Sandie Jones did an amazing job with this psychological thriller - I love a story where I can’t guess what’s going to happen and this book was exactly that. I found myself questioning everyone and everything multiple times just to be blown away multiple times as the events unfolded. This was the first Sandie Jones book I read but it won’t be the last!
Thank you to Minotaur books and Sandie Jones for the ARC! “The Blame Game” released August 16th.

I thought this book was ridiculous. I like this author but in this entry, this supposed therapist for domestic abuse victims was incredibly inappropriate and I would say unethical. She crossed the line into personal lives of patients and apparently did not have secured and locked cabinet where all patient files would be held. It’s not ever explained if she ever went through therapy herself and had education and training to qualify her for her role. I think not since she had few boundaries established with her therapy clients.
I also think the big reveal at the end left some things unexplained and unanswered. Just not a book worthy to fit in this authors collection because I have enjoyed her others.

It kept me turning pages which led to the 3 stars. However, all I could think was how if Naomi would stop lying she wouldn’t be in such a mess. Would have given it 2 stars had it not been a quick read.
Sandie Jones delivers another amazing book. Naomi is a therapist that works out of her home. She specializes in domestic abuse clients and Naomi is admittedly too invested in her clients, helping them off hours and offering places for them to stay. When her husband client goes missing, Naomi quickly becomes the main suspect.
This book is so hard to put down. It kept me guessing until the very end with what was true vs what was a lie. It’s told from Naomi’s POV so you can’t see what anyone else is thinking. This style is perfect for this story. I will definitely be reading more from Sandie Jones!!!

i liked that it was a short read I could read in 1 evening but I figured out the twist. I did not like the MC inability to set and stick to her boundaries to maintain her professional relationships with her patients, she kind of put herself in the mess she was in in the first place. I enjoyed the read over all.

A gripping thriller that will keep you guessing. My brain was scrambling to keep up with the twists & turns while trying to fit all the puzzle pieces together.
