Very distilled, very helpful. A worthy update where the original seems out of date.

Another book I should read again.
More personal comments than a review:
Simple but obviously effective. Tough to know what is setting right goals and knowing what is success or failure.
Set goals (3 to 5, one per page) and review them often.
Praise when you see someone doing right (or close enough).
Redirect when not going well, but keep negativity toward the behavior, not the manager of the behavior.

I listened to this one. Pretty straightforward ideas but good nonetheless.

i hate that i had to read this

My co-worker had this book sitting on his desk and I asked him what it was about. He told me I should read it and take as long as I'd like. I'm a very fast reader so I was done in a few days. While reading this, I couldn't help but shake my head and agree with so much because I saw all the failures my last company had made with it's employees. I was so miserable and this hit the nail on the head each and every time. I have had so many bad managers and they all seemed to do the same things listed in this book. This is a recommended read for anyone that not only has a job but is or wants to be in a manager position.

One Minute Manager is at the same time poignant and outdated. I feel like there is still merit in the overall message, people make the business, but its written incredibly cheesy. The messages would have been much better if conveyed through more straight forward presentations and factual testimonials than a hokey story that isn't believable. While a book detailing the effectiveness of quick interactions should be short, this book is criminally short. Overall, its worth a read but I wouldn't be happy if I paid for it.

I completely missed the hype with this one! Though a very short, quick read, I thought the story was SO cheesy and so simple - it could easily have been summed up in a blog post!

Great ideas, terrible and I mean terrible writing.
