Besides for the glaring example of sexism found at the very end of the book, the plot itself was horrible and the business lessons it "taught" should've been learned in 8th grade business classes.
I mean, it’s fine, but there’s literally nothing in the world I want less than to be a corporate leader.

This was a really short read that I listened to. I didn’t love the parable story format, but it had some good points

I hoped to find more applicable examples. This book reminded me of clicking on a recipe from an influencer and they tell you about all their side quests to acquire the ingredients from the grocery store(s).
There were some good takeaways, and this was a laugh out loud line as I currently am in the process of onboarding 2 new hires and put an offer out for a 3rd: “But when you think about it, there are many managers who are saying this prayer daily: ‘Please let this person work out.’”
Overall I struggled with this line which is the root of my frustration: “And why is the New One Minute Manager still the most productive and admired manager in the company?”
If he is so admired, then why hasn’t anyone else adopted this as a strategy in managing and leading people?
If he’s the go-to manager to pull folks from to promote, why hasn’t this approach to people leadership caught on or been adopted more widely?
This sounds like such a trash company.

This is a book that could have been a blog post. There is a useful nugget of info in there about how to manage staff, but the authors must have a sweet deal where they rake in the bucks by writing the most simplistic "business advice" books possible and then embedding them as required reading in various training courses.
