4.3 out of 5. This foundational business parable written almost 35 years ago still has valuable foundational info in it. I confess to never having read it until now, though I know it’s lessons well through other readings. While a bit aged (they actually thanks their secretary for having typed so many drafts,) the lessons of how to manage projects and people hold up surprisingly well from the pov of an integrator. I felt the need to read it before having new managers on my team do the same and I’m confident this will be helpful in their development. It’s very short and practical hence the high rating.
Very quick read. Great blueprint for effective, straight forward, and clear management. Usually read this about once a year, just to refresh my memory of its concepts.
Was recommended as part of a leadership book club I'm in. While I went in skeptical, I thoroughly enjoyed the lessons and still got a lot out of it despite the brevity and the parable nature of the book.
Simple reading, but great concept! I photocopied the checklists to reference later.
I liked all the content. I didn't love the writing. A quick read though.
I love the concept of this method and wished it was given to me during my time in management, I know I could have benefited from it. This can also be applied to your home life with your kids. Highly recommend this book for people in management or thinking of going into management.

Over simplistic, pretty cheesy. A couple good nuggets, though.
