A cheesy parable, which contains the 3 "secrets" of becoming a "one minute manager"
The 3 "secrets" are:
1. One-minute goals - have clear goals, use the 80/20 principle to chalk out only the most important goals
2. One-minute praisings - don't focus on the mistakes, instead catch the employees doing something "right"
3. one minute re-directs - provide specific feedback for improvement, first focus on the task of the person, then focus on the "person" i.e. tell them they are "better than this"

This has some useful ideas for managing and making it simple, but wow I hated the story format of it so, so much. It made it feel like some kind of management cult, complete with text for indoctrinating the gullible. The story made it less convincing.
Honestly, one of the better books on leadership I have read to date. The style was very engaging albeit cheesy and I retained most of the information. Bottom line: I liked it.
Short and to the point, I love the story-like structure. I wish they'd he a little more operational in the tips

Pretty hokey, but some decent concepts
This probably took longer for me to read due to my mood, not the content. But I finally finished it today and I’m so happy!
I'm not a huge fan of either non fiction or management which I've so often seen done wrong. This book is a little cheesy on its fictionalised storification of the principle but the principles themselves remain reasonable and sound. Not sure I can live up to them but worth trying.
