An absolutely incredible book. So hard to put down. The characters were engaging, interesting, and fun to root for. All kinds of twists that kept the book engaging. The magic elements were also a lot of fun. It has very dark themes, and heavily features abuse, but it is empowering as well as the characters overcome. The ending feels hopeful, but with knowledge of consequences.  Can't wait to pick up the sequel.

I enjoyed parts of this book, and I liked the main character/characters. My biggest reason for not giving it 4 stars is the gore. I found the graphic descriptions of violence and abuse off-putting. I will read the sequel though.

DEKAAAA ♥️

5 billion stars. I LOVED this book. I have The Merciless Ones on my shelf now and I can't WAIT to continue in the adventure.
The "exaggerated" story of the patriarchal society and the oppression these women faced because if it was just...spot on.
I love found families and bad ass women

this was an okay story, like 'bad guy' was kind of obvious and then the reveal made no sense and the ending was just too fine? i know why we are having a second book but at the same time, the book ended on a hopeful note, which just seemed odd

It's worth reading for the world building alone. There is a lot of trauma and sometimes it gets annoying with the secrecy and rules, but ultimately, the pay off makes it worth it.
