I recall reading the first book but I do not remember the story of it. With the third of the series recently released I figured it was time to give this one a shot.
I loved it all so much! Gabriel--or Scottie for some--was built up to be so gruff, but we see very little of that. From the beginning Sophie broke through his walls and made him fall in love with her. Their attraction was instant and their attachment did not take long. He laid claim to her before anything happened.
What I liked most about this book was the slow build. They didn't kiss until later in the book, and that was the first time they slept together too. Before all that, they were just friends and snuggle buddies. Friends that were falling in love in the most adorable way possible. So when it finally happened, I was cheering for them all the way. The fact that the physical (even a kiss) was not rushed at all I enjoyed so much. it was a refreshing change from a lot of books.
Sophie was such a fun character. We get a bit of her past but not much to get to know her as an entire 3D character. Still, I liked her spunk. Reading about the band again was great and her interactions with them were often funny. We get a lot of Jax in this one and it sets up for his book next, so I am going to jump right into that one.

Originally I rated Managed 4 stars, but I've read this book a total of three times now and I love it so much. The second and third time I read the novel I got something new out of it that made my heart flutter and my eyes water. I genuinely love the main characters, their relationship is so fresh and sarcastic and you truly get to see the development from employee to friend to relationship.
Of course, no New Adult book is complete without its drama and Lord does this book serve up plenty of that, but it all adds to the story. It's not unnecessary, which I find happens with Abbi Glines' works. Overall this is one of my favourite books.

I loved Game on and I read the game on books countless (!) times. So I was expecting to love this series but instead it totally missed me. It therefore also hurts me to write this review but honestly the total series (except Managed) felt like a total decline in terms of writing, plot and character development. I just really felt like the author can do more than that.
Where Game on impressed with somewhat emotional mature and committed men, the male protagonists in VIP somehow felt like boys that have the emotional intelligence of highschoolers. A big miss for me was also the background of Jax. Not because of the secretory but because apparently it has led the group to talk more about their emotions - but they literally don’t talk about their issues and instead mock each other all the time until shit blows up. So yeah, the emotional depth in this series was really lacking for me

3.5 at first i really liked the dynamic in this book. the banter and chemistry were good.
i also liked that it was known from the beginning that sophie had taken *those* photos of jax, it wasn’t her big secret.
the plot seemed to be dragging on at various points as well, but i felt like they were building the relationship correctly…
and then it went to shit with several ridiculous cases of miscommunications that had me rolling my eyes
and then the book was over
to sum up : cute book but could have been shorted or paced differently and there was no need for all this miscommunication
i also liked that it was known from the beginning that sophie had taken *those* photos of jax, it wasn’t her big secret.

The characters are opposites, and I absolutely LOVE them both so much! They are so endearing and entertaining.
They keep each other and the reader “on their toes” They are acerbic, witty and sexy!
It’s a take on Grumpy/Sunshine. Also a damaged hero, I’m a big fan!
So fun, clever and emotionally satisfying.
Slow burn that actually was very satisfying (I’m not a huge fan of slow burn) it totally worked in this instance.
