Quick, dramatic, and exciting, Exquisite Corpse was a joy to read. It follows Zoe, a twenty-two year old product model, as she navigates her displeasing life and befriends a reclusive author. Plot twists abound as Zoe discovers that the author and his editor are hiding a secret. A fun, intriguing graphic novel supported by beautifully simple digital illustrations, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a quick fix of romantic drama with a touch of humor.
fast-paced
While looking around on Net Gallery I found this little gem. So much fun! I didn't bother reading anything about it when I saw it was First Second - I just requested. Everything was a surprise and such a fun one. This fun little book made me laugh and I couldn't put it down. The ending made me very happy as well, a massive grin still lives on my face from this read.
The illustrations are amazing, there's no denying that. Where I found my head tilting to the side was near the end. Zoe is young and certainly finds herself in an interesting position, which pulls the comic along in a delightful fashion, but then... then things get weird. Nothing is really explored, nothing really happens except a whim that I cannot go into because of spoilers. Needless to say with this somewhat abrupt or dropped ending, I advise readers to go in with eyes wide open: "Exquisite Corpse" is to be enjoyed for pure pleasure. Do not seek a natural story arc, but more of a moment in time for Zoe.

Cartoonish and underdeveloped, but if you go into it expecting a cartoonish story, its very good, made me laugh out loud multiple times. The art style was really good and at least half a star was awarded just for that.
