4.23 AVERAGE

Closer to a 4.5 but so good I’m rounding up!

I really enjoyed the academy setting, bringing all the different characters together. I was a little confused as to why they all seemed to assume they were protected at Oden's Ford (like why didn't the Bayars immediately attack Han and have him arrested, and why did Raisa not seem too worried about being recognized eventually, when clearly she should have been.) I wish the schooling plotline covered more time, because it seems like one semester isn't enough for these teenagers to learn enough.

I feel like this series has such a good foundation that it could have been fleshed out more into an epic adult fantasy series. I was constantly wishing it would linger more on my favorite plot parts.

awesome so true to the first one and some juicy romance balancing out the magic. five stars!

Great continuation from the first book. Characters grow well and interactions are complex, especially with Han. Watching the two main characters interact more is interesting and fun. Kept me reading throughout no problem and the stakes continue to rise. Sets up the last two books brilliantly, should be a satisfying conclusion as well. Hard to find any complaints about the book overall.

3.0

Me cotó trabajo leer este libro porque se me hizo algo aburrido.
Este segundo libro es sobre los personajes conociéndose así mismos y no hay mucha acción y no hay muchas cosas nuevas ni información nueva, además, termina casi igual al libro anterior.

I really enjoyed it

Refreshing take on fantasy, nice to read something new with a side dish of some REALLY. REALLY. complicated romance.

Quoted from Summer: " Way better than the first book."
