Winnie-The-Pooh

lighthearted relaxing

Because sometimes we all need to spend a little bit of time in the Hundred-Acre Wood.

The edition I read is beautifully rendered as an ebook with illustrations by Ernest H. Shepard. Combined with Milne's extraordinarily compelling sense of voice, reading this book is just like sitting in front of warm fire on a cold night, wrapped in a comfy blanket with a cup of cocoa close at hand. I've been thinking about voice in writing a fair bit lately, and Milne's precise word choices and playful phrases have the ability to make even the silent reader hear them as if they were spoken aloud. Truly a gift to us all.

I have a soft spot for Winnie the Pooh...

A classic tale that I had never read. Each chapter is a short story about Pooh, and his friends.
