3.25 stars. I really loved the Metamorphosis but i only really clicked with maybe 2 of the other short stories. I feel like this could have been a better compilation as some were literally one page long and didn’t seem necessary in showcasing Kafka’s work.

If you're like me, who apparently missed the fine print and expected a novel, this is actually a collection of short stories. It took longer than I expected because I couldn't read different stories in one sitting, and I wouldn't dare claim that I understood 100% of it, but it was still a great ride.

My faves: The Metamorphosis (duh), The Penal Colony, The New Barrister, The Country Doctor, and Eleven Suns.
