Yes YEs YES! These three crossover stories between Percy Jackson/HOO and the Kane Chronicles were everything I thought they would be: entertaining, fun, etc. I just loved how well the characters seemed to work with one another. I highly recommend Demigods and Magicians to anyone that is a fan of both PJO and the Kane Chronicles.

Although the first two stories were obviously introductory, they were ntoa s memorable as the last one.

"The Crown of Ptolemy", the last story, was amazing. I was glued to the last fight scene, where we could finally see the Kanes and Percabeth fight together. I was laughing as I read through their struggles and how they worked together to face their biggest (weirdest?) rival until now (not really, Apophis was worse).

crossover slay

Thankfully, these three stories were united in one book. I heard about the "Son of Sobek" years ago, but it wars in the paperback version of a book I purchased in hardback when it was first released. Being that I loved the Kane Chronicles, I was very pleased to see the Kanes in another book. Know where this fits in the timeline because you definitely need to have read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the Kane Chronicles, and a least part of the Heroes of Olympus to get the many references.

Oh gods I've missed the Kanes and Percy and Annabeth. We haven't heard from Camp Half-Blood since 2014! I've missed them! And reading these short stories makes me wanna re-read The Red Pyramid. I hope Rirodan does more crossovers like this in the future (maybe in Trails of Apollo ?

This is just good old fashioned Rick Riordan writing, no stakes really at hand because it’s a side story between Percy Jackson and the Kanes  but it’s fun to see them interact. I rated it 2.5 because i wouldn’t consider it a normal book with a normal plot line, more like a side quest. But for its purpose it was decent. For how big of a deal they made setne seem to be in the serpents shadow, they defeated him awfully easy but it doesn’t matter just a fun little short story to bring the Riordanverse together
