Slow, cold, depressing. A good portion of this book takes place during a blizzard. Unfortunately, reading it is like walking through a blizzard.

Luin peräkkäin saman kirjailijan Hämärän hetken ja sitten tämän - tästä Yömyrskystä pidin ehkä vielä enemmän. Todella elävästi kuvattu, ahdistavan karu ja myrskyinen Öölannin miljöö meni jotenkin ihon alle, lukiessa melkein pelotti! Onneksi en sentään alkanut kuulla vainajien puhetta...

There were good parts, but I felt like they didn’t last long and I expected a lot more from them. Ex. I wanted to know more about the maid who threw the aborted fetus on the table in front of the man of the house who had cheated on his wife. They built up an expectation that the dead would be more present and inside the house to visit during Christmas, but we get some shadows in the background in the barn?
It also built up an expectation that something would happen at the offermoss, which was an interesting part of the book, but nothing happened?
There are more parts that started good but ended up unexplored in the book, but overall, it was an okay book, kinda meh.

I've read a great number of Swedish mystery-thrillers, and most of them were terribly mediocre - except for this book. I loved the main character, his struggles, his experiences, the lighthouse, the mystery, the MURDER mystery, just was very well written and kept me enjoying it every step of the way.

A pleasant change from the dull Swedish books I had read prior.
