If you want a book that will calm you down, relax you, show you love and emotion, but at the same time turn your world around and make you cry at 2am, this is the perfect book for you!
Filled with so much love, laughter, happiness, tears, travelling, 7 second long hugs and intimate moments, this book has left me speechless until the very last page.
You will travel the world around with Bridget, and listen to her playlist, keep track of her thoughts and be a witness while she tries to take her pieces of her heart sorted out together again.
But she will fall in love with a person she's expected least - a tiny little baby girl!
Definitely a book that I would recommend to all of you that love these type of stories, and all of you that don't - because you will love this one regardless.

Not sure if I like who Bridget ended up with, but the end made up for it..
Another E-book by an author that I’ve heard of but never read before, picked up because the e-book is currently free on Amazon, and the perfect book for a long train ride home.
However, I did have extremely mixed feelings about the book, which you might understand as you hear more.
In the book, we meet Bridget, a successful travel writer, who is currently travelling around the world meeting up with past boyfriends to ask them for the piece of her heart back. She has a theory that she’s given a piece of her heart to every boyfriend she’s been with, and she won’t be happy in her current relationship until she tracks them all down – and what a perfect topic for her blog too!
So she has left her current boyfriend Elliot in Australia while she goes on this mission (with his full backing), and she’s pretty sure that he will propose when she returns.
But while she’s in the UK, she’s offered a chance she can’t turn down. An author called Nicole Dupre died, leaving behind a bestselling novel and an unfinished sequel, and her family have decided they want someone to ghost-write the end of the sequel to bring it to a conclusion for her fans.
So Bridget ends up moving to Cornwall for 2 months, to work in the home-office of Nicole Dupre. But obviously, being a home office, it means she ends up spending a lot of time with Nicole’s grieving husband Charlie and their small child April.
Charlie seems very distant at first (I mean, he’s just lost his wife and has been solely responsible for their baby girl since she was 5 weeks old, so I’m not surprised), but slowly, Bridget manages to draw him out of his shell.
And then it started to get a bit weird for me. Charlie is clearly grieiving and not coping very well with the loss of his wife, but you can see Bridget quite obviously falling in love with him, and as he starts to warm to her too, you know where the ending is going.
Don’t get me wrong, it was written very sensitively, and the turmoil of emotions that Charlie goes through were very thoughtfully written, but it did make me a bit on edge that it was all happening so quickly, and it seemed like Bridget was a little bit manipulative to be honest.
But over all that [spoiler alert], I did enjoy the happy ending. Charlie deserved it, and it did seem like Bridget was the right person for him to end up with after she had cared for him and April so well, it just set me on edge a little, that’s all.

You know, I think this book might have a little piece of my heart. A five star read from me.
Can you believe that up until recently I had no idea that to be classified as ‘romance’, the book has to have a happy ending? I assumed that it would be exceedingly common because lots of unhappy and unsuccessful relationships within a romance probably wouldn’t be that sort after, but I didn’t know it’s an actual requirement of the genre.
Anyway, the point I’m making is that did I know where this book was headed? Yes. Was I mad about it? Not in the slightest.
This was a really cute, fun, and heartfelt (albeit slightly predictable) novel and I loved it. It has flown to the top of my favourite Paige Toon books and made me even more inclined to pick up another one soon.
I loved the main plotline of this. I had never considered that books could be ghostwritten if an author dies without completing it, and I found this storyline really interesting. I loved going on a journey with Bridget as she researches a novel that she was never supposed to write, desperately hoping she can do justice to the original author.
And Bridget’s relationship with Charlie and April was just…I loved it so much. They were so cute together, a lot of the book was full of subtle glances and will-they-won’t-they moments and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I definitely recommend this book if you love romance, or are looking to give Paige Toon a go.

3.75. A gorgeous book to give you the warm and fuzzies.
Her writing is beautiful and she always nails the romantic connections.
While I couldn't put it down, this one was a bit slower paced, admittedly due to the nature of the story.
I really enjoyed it. She is one of the Chick-lit queens!

This book was absolutely perfect for me as I read it. I've had a rubbish week and I just wanted something warm, something to get involved in and make me smile. With a cast of characters to fall in love with, stunning settings and a romance to melt your heart, I got everything I wished for. Definitely a seven second hug - this book hit every spot.
Thirty something travel writer Bridget has had an eventful love life up to now as she easily falls in love time and time again. When she comes up with the idea of catching up with her ex-boyfriends and asking for the pieces of her heart she gave them, while blogging about her journey, she hopes to convince her agent that this will make a great novel. What she's not expecting is to be offered a job as a ghostwriter, to finish the sequel of popular novelist Nicole Dupre. But the job comes with decisions - Nicole's grieving husband insists she must move to Cornwall to fully immerse herself in Nicole's ideas and inspiration. As Bridget finds herself living in her Dad's camper van and tiptoeing about Nicole's home and bereaved family, she's not convinced she made the right decision at first. But she's about to discover she still has a piece of her heart left to give away - and she couldn't be more surprised by the person who eventually takes it.
I LOVED Bridget. She's fun, witty, and slightly bonkers with a huge heart filled with compassion. I'd love to have a friend like Bridget - I don't think you'd ever be bored in her company and she's completely endearing without being overbearingly sweet. She doesn't take herself too seriously, and can laugh at herself and her mistakes which gives her an added charm. I was rooting for this character all the way.
I guessed where The Last Piece Of My Heart was going pretty early on, but this didn't make the journey there any less enjoyable. The developing romance and relationship in this book is beautifully observed, so that the reader feels the increasing tension as it happens. It's a building romance, which develops slowly and is entirely believable given the difficult circumstances surrounding it. Awkward and messy combined with touching and tender ensures that you can't help but get behind it. There's some difficult themes of grief, loss and moving on covered, and I felt Paige Toon did so sensitively and thoughtfully. I also lost a little piece of my heart reading this book, courtesy of a very special little character!
I was bowled over by the heartfelt and honest writing which drew me in and connected me to these characters, becoming as invested in their lives as if I knew them myself ... that's how real and credible they were. As for the setting, well it couldn't have been anymore perfect, and had me yearning to visit Cornwall. With Bridget's intriguingly quirky blog writing research lending lighter, laugh out loud moments, The Last Piece Of My Heart lead me on a roller-coaster of emotions, ending with one huge, soppy smile. I absolutely loved this warm, gorgeous, feel-good book and can't fault a thing.

The last piece of my heart follows Bridget as she is hired to ghost write Nicole Dupree's sequel, as Nicole has recently passed away without completing it, leaving her fans bereft. Not as bereft as Nicole's husband Charlie, however, who has been left to bring up their daughter. As Bridget works with Charlie to write a suitable sequel, she begins to change her priorities.
This is a wonderful love story, you know exactly where it is going and how it should end. Bridget is a good main character to read about. I loved her sense of humour and her view on life, especially with regard to her blog. I also loved the relationship between her and Charlie, with a definite slow burn going on. The only thing for me was that Bridget was a tad stalkerish towards the end of the story, but did not detract from the story. April was great too, although the descriptions were a bit monotonous at times.
However, this is most definitely an easy, nice and happy read that leaves you with the warm fuzzies long after you finish. I would definitely recommend.

I'd like to thank Simon and Schuster for sending me a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book, and any book that features Ireland is a winner in my world. I loved as well that the Ireland in this book wasn't Dublin-centric.
It was a classic chick lit, and with every classic chick lit comes a classic romance. I loved this aspect of the story, and I had been waiting for it and expecting it since early in the book. I loved how it was about a little family coming together.
I didn't, however, think too much of Kate and of Valerie.
Overall, this was a fantastic read and one I'll be recommending all my friends bring on their beach holidays.
