Out of all of the books Paige Toon has written, I definitely think this one is the best one so far!
I absolutely loved everything about the book. The plot, her writing and most importantly the characters! This was such an enjoyable and quick read which made me smile a lot and I really hope Bridget, Charlie and April will get a short appearance in “Five Years From Now” which is coming out in May.

I didn’t envy Bridget working on a sequel to a bestselling novel, especially when the original author has sadly passed away and she will be ghost writing it. You can tell the immense pressure that Bridget feels in wanting to get it right. So much so she sets up in a small motor home in a campsite so she can spend several weeks researching the previous authors notebooks. To do this she has to rely on the hospitality of Charlie, widower and father of April who Nicole lives behind of which Charlie is still trying to come to terms with her loss.
The story starts on shaky ground with Bridget and Charlie trying to settle into this new routine of which it feels at times they are walking on egg shells. The more that we get to know these characters as well as them getting to know each other better, the more my heart began to swell. I loved both of them as well as their relationship with little April which was just so heart warming. It was really enjoyable seeing the undeniable chemistry between both growing and I knew how I wanted this book to end. To see if they all get their happy ever after, you will need to read it for yourself!
The Last Piece of My Heart is such a lovely and engaging read that definitely stole some of my heart. The gorgeous settings added to the wonderful ambience of the story and I let the author whisk me away so I felt I was there along with the characters. The novel is beautifully written and had me routing for Bridget and Charlie throughout. A fabulous read that will have your heart fit to burst with emotions!

My first Paige Toon book and it definitely won’t be my last. A really enjoyable light hearted little page turner. It does hold some trigger warnings linked to grief and loss but overall a fairly uplifting and happy read.
I really liked the main character and I loved that the majority of the book being set in Cornwall, one of the key places being just 5 miles from where I live. I found it a bit slow starting and I wasn’t sure if I was going to get into it but as soon as you get to know the characters and get into the real plot of the book I found it very engaging. I liked the ‘the last piece of my heart’ premise but enjoyed certain aspects of the book more than others.
Although it was a fairly typical ’girly’ read, I did struggle to put it down and would recommend it as the perfect beach read 😇

I think this is my favourite of Paige’s books so far! I didn’t really know what to expect as I know I love Paige’s books I didn’t even read the blurb I just went straight in! Set in Cornwall this was always going to be a firm favourite as I always love reading books based in places I know well. This book also has such an interesting story line I jus couldn’t get enough.
