This was an amazing continuation! It provided some more insight into the world and the magic system which I really enjoyed. It also let us see some more of the world which was fun!
Ziva's character development in this book was amazing! I really enjoyed seeing her grow stronger and more confident in herself and her abilities. I also liked seeing all of the friendships and relationships develop more!
I liked the conclusion to the conflict and how the story concluded.

Not as good as the first book, but still an enjoyable end to the series.

3.75. Solid, heartwarming, some unique elements. Lots of anxiety rep...was a little overwhelming in that regard at times but that's the nature of the beast afterall

I really enjoyed the conclusion of this duology. I loved the mental health representation as well as the character development in this novel.

I love that this book both provides a satisfying conclusion for this duology, but also leaves open paths for a potential follow up or connected book (about the cotton spinner and/or Secret Eater's worthy wielder). I am so glad that Ziva has grown confident, but I'm also glad we got to see her selfish side in terms of believing her sister would stay with her forever in a life that would be so boring for Temra. Someone's anxiety doesn't excuse foolish or wrong decisions, and someone can be supportive of them in their anxiety while pointing out their flaws. I think Ziva is a good representation for people who struggle with severe anxiety and how they can overcome it or at least reclaim a little control. I honestly just wish there was more of Temra and Petrik and that we could learn more about what's going on in their heads.

This book was such a beautiful one. I loved the found family, the romance and all the action in it. Ziva is such a relatable main character that it was so easy to be sucked into the duology.
