A few days later and I have no idea what this book was about
dark mysterious tense fast-paced

So I like the overall story. The writing is okay. There were parts h skimmed over. They felt too wordy and unnecessary.
I’m interested in knowing the rest of the story.

Gross and stereotypical virginity culture. Dialogue was also very…fake and uncomfortable.
The spice was so mediocre and reading the words “iron rod” made me gag.
dark emotional sad tense medium-paced

Cheesy and Typical.

It was a really quick read.
In one sitting I had the book done. I found the buildup of the relationships to be extremely quick and cheesy AF. I think I’ve read about 20 other mafia books off Wattpad with the exact same plot. Literally, the exact same.
Meh, not sure if I’ll read the next book. I just wasn’t captivated by this one.

4.5 stars _ Yes, I hate cliffhangers. I openly admit it. At the same time, some of the best stories I've enjoyed span multiple books. This feels like it's going to be one of those. Secrets are slowly, painfully revealed and the chemistry between Zane and Dove explodes. I need the next part... STAT! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Wow, well I have no idea how to review this phenomenal psychological thriller, mixed with dark steamy romance and since it's a duet I need more answers, I need more period. These authors wrote a story that got me reading and reading and reading until I had to stop because it ended and I so need to know what happens next. A trained killer, a woman that had hard life and no luck, getting her on the list and then all the twists began. Crazy journey throughout the story.

❝I hold Dove in my arms the entire night, my love for her an unbreakable prison that she will never escape.❞

Having read both books, I can say that the presence of the mafia is very minor in this book, but is very prevalent in the second. This one is almost exclusively about building a relationship between Dove and Zane; leading me to presume that the author wanted to have their relationship established before introducing external factors in the duet. The writing is good, as is the plot—although at times it felt redundant.

It’s important to note that the hero is basically the heroines stalker—he openly admits to being obsessed with her. If this is a relationship dynamic that bothers you, then you probably shouldn’t read it. If you like your heroes to have sociopathic tendencies that don’t extend to their feelings towards the heroine, then give it a shot.
