This was my 2nd Star Wars legends novel I've read so far. Compared to Death Troopers, this book was 10x better plot wise. It did seem a bit rushed at the end, but I enjoyed every minute of it! I'm very interested in the Unknown Regions of Star Wars. I highly recommend this book for first time readers.

Starts off a bit slow, but ends in a good fashion. I read this after reading ~6 other "canon
Thrawn books, and wish TZ would have kept Thrawn and the Chiss in this respect as opposed to the changes he made.

If you can get through this without wanting to punch Jedi Master Jorus C'Baoth in the face you have the discipline to be a jedi.

Zahn has done some of the best Star Wars books and this is a great story that bridges the older books and George Lucas's prequels and gives you some good background on Thrawn.

If you are a fan of Thrawn or Mr Zahn this book is cool to see the backstory of outbound flight. The awesomeness stops there. Besides Thrawn, and cameos from some of the movie characters it was a dull story and moved at a dull pace. Worth the read for Zahn fans though.
