A little slow to start but I liked Lena so I stuck it out and am glad I did.

Enjoyed this book but it did feel a bit confusing and a little all over the place at times. Overall though it was an engaging story with a strong female main character I liked and rooted for. She felt human and real which a lot of times you don’t find in mystery/theillers.

What a bummer. Just didn’t like the writing, the characters, and the ending was dumb. On to the next one.

My second ever DNF. Stopped at 50%. I just simply can’t get over Lena saying “shitnuts” on every page.

Actually, 2.75. I have mixed feelings abt this book. The pace of this book was steady but slow throughout! This book had no climax and had a consistent build up to a nosedive quick ending. The reveal and what happened after was SUCH a let down. All the detail throughout the book and the ending just felt like cliff notes. Plus, the antagonist made no sense… like why was it that person? I’m sitting here feeling annoyed by the last hour of the book! Nothing was resolved… no catharsis. In the words of Lena, shitnuts! If this wasn’t a buddy read, I might feel like I wasted my time!

Note: I listened to this as an audiobook and I usually love Bahni Turpin but the voice for Erin was atrocious

3.5 stars

The book was good, but not my favorite. Good storyline, good plot twist but for some reason it took a lot longer for me to finish. Didn’t have that, ‘I can’t put this down feeling.’ I typically finish a book in 3-7 days and this one took me about 2 1/2 weeks. I enjoyed it enough to like the book over disliking it, but would rate it a solid 3/5 stars.

Lena was so unlikable as a main character. By the end I was just over the story. I was to the point I didn’t care who murdered her sister. And the amount of characters throughout… I couldn’t remember half of them. Way too many that were pointless to even bring up.
