3.5 stars, cool for a quick read, set in NY

A twisty thriller that maybe tries to do a bit too much and leaves some ends loose/unanswered. But still an engaging read!

Started off a little slow for me but really picked up in the middle of the book. Loved the plot twists that were in the story!

I enjoyed the main character and the family dynamics, but I just didn't feel myself being drawn back into the story when I put it down. I had a hard time keeping up with the secondary characters as a result.

Finally a thriller where the villain is someone who is not obvious. Although the entire plot of the book would be up in ashes if only the characters communicated with each other than hold grudges.

I found this story predictable— a whodunit that I figured out from the very beginning. The characters felt generic and the casualness with which they discussed drug and alcohol abuse felt gross. Not to mention, I didn’t like any of characters. It wasn’t a HUGE struggle for me to get through, so I gave it 2 stars, but I definitely was excited to be done with it.

I liked the idea of this book, I just don’t think it was done well. The main character kept having the same ideas and she was super persistent so much that she came off as annoying. There were a few things that didn’t make sense in the end and a few things that didn’t get resolved. The story could honestly have been way shorter. It just seemed like it took forever to come to a conclusion.
