The plot was nice and I loved Jack and her as a mom but it was just not that special. The writing was not THE best and I only skimmed some scenes because I felt that they were too long or detailed (unnecessary). It was also really cliché.
I was so bored. The only reason I made it as far as I did was because I love the narrators. The writing was very mediocre, and, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, I don’t need every detail of every outfit any character wears OR the MMC’s detailed Qdoba order!

I tried not to see the rating since a snippet of this book really got my attention, but I guess the rating speaks for itself.
The way the author writes this book is just not for me I guess. Ended up dnf-ing the book after reaching 66% mark. Might pick it up to see the ending but it's not my priority at the moment.

I really tried. The girl was honestly insufferable. Like she was rude but didn't want anyone else to be rude to her. She agrees to go on a date with the ex, but then dirty dances with his best friend. 🙄 Like way too immature.
Then the whole "he never knew he had a kid/her hating his guts" was basically overlooked and they picked up a relationship without any talking. Like whhaat? 🤨

The book had SO MUCH potential but it was missing a lot of angst & spice sadly :/ the MMC was way too forgiving for all those years lost and the FMC was not putting up much of a fight, gave in too easily.
