i cannot describe how much i loved this series. the characters make me feel at home and i will definitely miss them so much :( i wish i could be a part of this gang (without actually fighting ghosts because i would poop my pants)
As I have stated in every review for this series, I! Love! These! Kids!!!!!!
A proper final outting for a kids adventure book should involve an attack on a formerly believed safe zone, a confrontation with the big bad who’s been slowly built up over the course of the series, a reaffirming of our characters importances to one another, and just like…. So many more dead people than initially thought possible in a kids book.
I loved this series so much, I’m so glad I’ve been able to read all of them they’ve been so enjoyable. Loses .05 stars fornot letting them kiss. LET THEM KISS STROUD!!!!!!

“Then I put on my jacket and ran for the stairs.” jonathan, you owe me compensation for not writing just one more paragraph to make locklyle explicitly canon.
A solid 3. There is finally, some small character development and kindness towards all the sterotypes (Flo / George etc.) and Mary / Gary Su [Lucy / Lockwood] are less omnipotent than normal, a good thing. That being said, there were several loose ends (e.g. Sir Rupert) which were unsatisfactorily tied up. The whole thing felt a bit rushed, and the skull, one of the best characters, had little to not real time in the limelight, nor were Lockwood's clearly suicidal tendencies really ever addressed. Still, if one hasn't read the Bartimaeus trilogy, this is definitely going to be more fun.
Everything hurts and I'm dying, I need more or I will never be happy again!!!

One of the books you race to finish because you want to know what happens, but then you're sad you didn't spend more time because now it's over.

Read it several months ago. I'm still trying to collect all the broken pieces of my heart rn. I'm begging you, Sir Jo Stroud, write a couple books or a whole new fckg series about Lucy—Skull—Locky. I know it should be ended, BUT CAN I MOVE ON? ABSOLUTELY NO.
