Spinoff series (Diff characters but same world as Zodiac Academy)
Spice: 4/5 (Explicit Open Door based on romance.io)

I loved this book. There is so much tension and the magic is fantastic. Especially when we have the base of Zodiac Academy. You don't have to read as much world building and get to dive right into plot.

My rating: 4.5/5 (round up for the sake of GoodReads!)
I would definitely recommend this series!

DNF at 60%. Vesper’s chapters killed me. I get it, she’s hot, everyone wants her, I don’t need to read about it in her every chapter in such a cringy way. Making her powers recharge by others’ desire might sound like a fun idea, but it only makes you read about how everyone wants to lick her boots and sleep with her and how she’s too good for that.

Second POV is your typical romantasy FL, so poor and bullied and ‘not like the other girls, with shells in her dresses’, and yet beautiful and perfect at everything. Growth? Nope, happens off pages. Suddenly she can cast spells, just like that.

The plot was all over the place, there were constant battles, skirmishes, action sequences and yet I was bored and lost and started to skim through the story. The constant shifts in POV are tiring, especially when there is no continuity. One FL seeing another doing something that might interest you at the end of her chapter? One month later in another FL’s chapter. Why? Just why?

I found myself enjoying the writing style and character POV of one character more than the other. However, given the differences of the two characters I found it made the book more enjoyable.

I wanted to like this but I couldn’t get past the way each chapter went from one character back to the other. Personally my brain just couldn’t handle keeping up with two story lines
