Chandler is a former journalist, turned professional ghostwriter. Finnegan Walsh is a C-list actor who hit it big doing a college werewolf show and now spends most of his time doing the convention circuit. When the two connect to see if Chandler will write Finn's memoir, it's not their first meeting. No, it turns out Finn is also Drew, the very, very, very underwhelming one-night stand that Chandler had fled the night before.
The two agree to a professional relationship that eventually turns very personal when Chandler offers her services to improve Finn's sexual prowess. However, intertwining business and pleasure get increasingly complicated as they share their stories and struggles.
I love the premise of this book. So many romance books revolve around perfect sex all the time (multiple times if you catch my drift), but that's not realistic! Instead, Solomon's writing stresses how communication and learning about your partner are the keys to a fulfilling romantic and sexual relationship.
My one complaint--the interstitial chapters that trace Finn's career and preview some of his good and bad scripts. Sorry, Olivia Dade's use of approach, especially in Spoiler Alert, can't be beaten, and authors shouldn't even try! While some of the entries are good, they aren't great and probably don't need to be in the book.

I read Weather Girl last year, and it ended up being one of my favorite romances of the year, so obviously i was dying to get my hands on this one. It did NOT disappoint!!!
Recently heart broken, Chandler, is 31 years old and working as a ghost writer where she feels under appreciated. After a book signing for an influencer she worked for, she met a boy (turned one night stand) with past she awkwardly uncovers the following day.
Honestly, i think that's all you really need to know. I read the first couple of sentences of the synopsis, so around the 20% mark when she figures out who her one night stand really is, I was actually surprised by it--which i really enjoyed.
I absolutely LOVED our main characters, and their relationship. Great mental health rep. I'm so happy i picked it up. This was my second book by Rachel Lynn Solomon, and my second five star from her.

overall, i adored this. truly. i really enjoy solomon's storytelling. i would LOVE to see her branch out of this "romantically stunted girl who is smol, loves writing/wants to write, lives in or travels to seattle" character type, however. and if you think that sounds weirdly specific, you'd be right lol! seriously though, she's an author i will continue to follow and support <3
♡ SPOILERS AHEAD ♡
first, the one night stand was obviously horrific. saying "does she like it?" would've been enough to make me actually leave lmfaooo.
it might have been bc i was on the treadmill at the gym while my audiobook was playing, but the spanking scene & sex after had me blushing, screaming internally, holding my hand to my mouth.
at one point she says "he cries out into the night" and that made me actually laugh out loud, subtle wolf joke no??
i just wish she would change the climax of her future books. she has played out the "quirky girl that somehow can't see that the guy is in love w her" trope and i fully believe she is capable of more!
the whole part where she ~stole~ the book was so...irritating? like ok she's so good & pure she returned it and bought two hahaha it just feels unrealistic if you ask me!
