"Shift in Shadows" by Maddox Grey is an urban fantasy that introduces Nemain, a 300+ year-old feline shapeshifter grappling with PTSD and seeking revenge. This story does a great job building a world filled with Fae, demons, mermaids, vampires, and werewolves within the human world. Nemain, having escaped captivity from her ex-boyfriend Sebastian, a warlock, now faces his obsessive search for her. The world-building stands out, immersing readers in a super diverse and queer-friendly setting. All of the characters are very diverse fantasy creatures, making them super interesting.
The plot is fast-paced and intriguing, with all threads resolved by the end, except for, of course, a cliffhanger that makes you want to continue the series. Nemain's complexity and the close bonds she shares with her friends make her a refreshing protagonist. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes more diverse romantasy stories and I plan to continue this series!

Nemain is a feline shapeshifter with secret magic she must keep hidden to protect her and everyone she loves in the human realm and beyond. Her former lover Sebastion, a warlock, is trying to track her down and is hot on her trail with the help of the vampires. Neimain must fight to keep her magic a secret. If the fae and demons find out they will kill her.
This book has it all fae, vampires, mermaids demons, werewolves, witches, and unique magic systems, and don’t forget found family. The narrator was not my favorite but did not make me stop listening. More character development for Adrian needs to happen in the next book. I was unsure while reading if it was a series I would continue with however by the end I knew I would, and then the epilogue delivered some interesting information.
Fast paced with a lot going on. Characters felt pretty one dimensional and were hard to get attached to. I love the idea behind this one, but wish it would have been more fleshed out

Definitely recommend this for a Stuff Your Kindle Day read!! The author combined typical fantasy creatures like vampires, fae, and werewolves with Greek mythology! Super interesting!
It was just boring amd I was confused, I might give it a try again another time
Terrible narration, story line seemed to jump around, and characters relations seemed flat while the characters theme selves were just unlikeable.

I really enjoyed this book. It throws you right in and does a great job of explaining the world without info dumping.
I really liked the FMC and her friends, although, her loved, Andre is kind of frustrating for me. He’s a definite golden retriever bf which I don’t mind, but it doesn’t work for our FMC in this series. I’m really hoping for her and Mikhail to end up together.
This book concludes one conflict, but there are several things left open ended. I’ll definitely be continuing the series.
