No spoilers.
I will start by saying I am not a stranger to varying levels of romance novels, from fade to black all the way to dark. See my review history.
The plot: no plot. To the author’s credit, the hope that a plot would appear is what made me make it 1/2 way through the book. I finished out of pure determination to see how bad it gets.
The spice: there is spice. It is repetitive and not fundamentally for the woman. In fact, I wondered if the author had familiarity with wiring scenes that appeal to women. I assume she does. It’s just not in this book. Let me clarify - the woman does finish, it’s just not portrayed in a way that makes any sense.
The couple: age gap, coercion, potentially grooming. One other trope is a plot point of the book. I won’t name it because it is a spoiler. I will say it is the ONLY plot point. I would hate take that little bit of joy away from anyone who purchased the book. The two are not well-developed. It started ok. Together the entire relationship is laughable. I don’t believe these two as a couple for a minute.
Writing: What in the internalized misogyny is this? When did we circle back for putting down women for aging? The author shames older women multiple times in this book. She states women over (my best guess) 32 cannot be pretty. She goes on to shame the things women utilize to feel better about themselves - make-up, plastic surgery, heels. The actual writing style isn’t awful. The story, substance, and the structure are incredibly awful. If you are above the age of 27, the author does not want you to feel like the queen (or king) you are.
Final thought: this book makes me question my previous one star reviews. I do not believe I gave those books enough credit.
This was my first read by this author and it took me a little bit to get into but an ok story in the end.
Still a pretty solid MC read. One of the few I’ve actually liked.
This was a reread. And I agree with my original assessment.
The MC prez H takes an innocent 18-year old h as payment for her brother’s debts.
The H has been living it up as a hard partying bachelor in an MC. When he brings the h back to his clubhouse he has no intention of entering into a relationship, but those intentions start circling the drain almost immediately. He has her branded as his woman before they even leave her house and it all goes down hill from there for our poor resistant Hero.
The h may be innocent in some ways, but she’s a scrappy survivor. And while she may not have many choices in the situation she’s found herself in, she is clever and resourceful, and she does what she has to do to gain some security.
I loved how this H was determined to not be monogamous. He’s full of bluster and threats, but he’s too crazy about the h to ever carry anything out. I really love an H who is just out of his element and not understanding his own feelings and actions. He’s so confused about what a jealous possessive psycho he becomes with the h….

Holy cow - now I can see why so many Queens of MC members were gushing when I announced this as the April book discussion book. As much as I questioned things, especially the branding, I don't know what it was about this, but man.... Blade... You've got me.
Lethal is a MC story. A girl gets taken because her brother steals from the gang therefore she is the payment as she and her father cannot afford it.
I love how the girl is shown as independent and strong. I also like how she loves her father and is doing everything she can for his health. The author also shown the naivety of the girl as she is 18 which made it more realistic.
The captor, did put me off in certain situations but it is understandable. He had to act strong and merciless as he is the president of the MC club and cant look weak in front of others and certain action of his has him caught. I can't mention too much or it will be a spoiler...
I was quite disappointed that I didnt get the full story with Benny, what he did, why he ran. It felt incomplete . Maybe the story will continue in the next book.
I really love how the author started with father and then ended with the last chapter with her father too. Just showed the importance of the girls main issue.
I recommend this book to those who love age gap, mc club stories, happy ending and a cliffhanger that isn't unbearable.
