I had the pleasure of meeting the author and being part of a book club she leads so of course I loved the book! The characters are relatable and the "dates" are hilarious. Loved the questionnaires that each potential date completed. Some memorable highlights: emotional support birds, Bradley Cooper (not that one), family dynamics--especially the dates her grandfather picks out, finding your career in today's job market, and the diversity of lived experiences.

Fun, lighthearted read about finding yourself and complications of dating today.
Cute! Lighthearted and fun. Love that it has fat representation without it being one dimensional.
Funny disaster dates, a small love triangle moment, and a friends to lovers second chance in the end.
I liked the plus size rep and anxiety rep in the book, though sometimes the anxiety rep felt more surface level since I did not feel the emotions of the character more.
This was a fun, cute read.

So let me start with what this book did well:
- we LOVE a plus size character. Not just for the representation but also because it counteracted common narratives such as "fat" being a bad term and not a simple descriptor.
- it had a fun premise. Loved the questionnaire that gave us a peek into each date
- lots of good parallelism with the structure of each date and chapter and list of rules
But it lost me at a lot of places:
- the date that she ended up with that could've been good? I wish there had been a more concrete reason to end it. It was like the physical attraction just disappeared??
- the tenth date could've had more of a twist. We knew it was coming but how it came could have been more nuanced or creative.
- the ending was just too much.
So solid read overall! Wouldn't recommend it or be keen to read more, but wouldn't dissuade someone from giving it a shot either!

This was a light fun read and I loved the concept so much! The framework of the 10 dates set up by her family and besties was chef’s kiss perfect! The anxiety rep was also very well done. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes but this one felt forced. I found myself cheering on Brian in the eventual love triangle. It felt too predictable for her to end up with Jack after all those years. The timing felt suspect (oh NOW you say something when she’s just finally able to start to move on) and the Hawaii miscommunication didn’t seem like enough to avoid their true feelings for that many years. So when she chose Jack after Brian didn’t like books, I was disappointed. The final chapters of their relationship renewed my interest in their love story but I do kinda wish she’d ended up with Brian, just to shake things up a bit.
