2.5 stars. the storyline was interesting enough that i kept reading, but very predictable. i would have been fine with that, but i did not like the writing whatsoever. additionally, the main character was pretty unbearable, and i do not think that was the author’s intention. the main character felt very “woe is me” and everyone else is the problem, but yet she was judgmental and placed herself on a pedestal. she was the epitome of the worst millennial stereotypes, yet she was only supposed to be 25.

This was pleasant enough, but very predictable and didn't go where I hoped in the end.

My brain was wanting a romance and luckily this had just come in from the library. I enjoyed the writing style and the characters and I thought the date survey was a cute gimmick. I had just gotten annoyed with the references to a past event when Howe told us explicitly what happened. I was curious how she was going to resolve the love triangle, and I thought that was adequate if a bit rushed. I thought the characters seemed older than 25 and I would have put them at the 28-30 range. I also couldn’t understand how they were affording their lifestyles given their jobs and where the lived. But what knocked this down to 3.75 for me was when the FMC flubs a question in an interview, she doesn’t send an email to follow up, she just gives up and takes a lesser, and frankly, less believable, job. That really irritated me.
