finished in 2 days flat!! what a fun mystery to watch unravel. a main character with her own problems and secrets to uncover, a little girl that is portrayed as alternately creepy and terrified (and written very well in both perspectives), and the way the two of them mirror one another. hopeful resolution.

A creepy little book. It's been a long time since I've read a book that I couldn't put down. The story progressed well and the suspense was well-crafted. Maybe it helped that that I find small children a little bit creepy already. I knew there would be a plot twist at the end, because the story was being led in a certain direction at such an early stage. But this kind of red herrings and "huge" plot twist belongs to the detective thriller books of today.
