This sits somewhere between a 3 and a 4 so I guess my overall rating is a 3.5.

This was an odd, yet somehow satisfying, conclusion to the series. However, I felt it could have been longer (and believe me when I say that is not something I say very often). Don't get me wrong, the ending fit well, it's just that books 1 and 2 set up this HUGE conflict that's resolved in a little more than 300 pages.

Adelina is a great character though. She's flawed and cruel and I really disliked her at times, but I also felt sympathetic to her - and crafting that kind of character is no small feat.

The ending was bittersweet and I thought it was very well done. I also really liked the epilogue which FINALLY explains the title.

Overall this was really good and I enjoyed the trilogy a lot.

4.5 stars

I have had a little trouble with this series as the main character have not proven to be very likeable. However, this was a fantastic ending and it was just how I would want it to conclude. I cried like a baby.

it wasn’t the perfect end to this trilogy but it was still really great! the decline of all the characters was very intense and i was sad to see most of them go. magiano and adelina’s dynamics will always be amazing to me and i’m so sad that we didn’t get to see more of them. the ending made me cry just a little and i thought it was really fitting for the overall vibes of the book. i’m glad i picked up this series :,)

This is a very generous 2.5 star rating, because I honestly feel that this last installment could be better. I guess part of the reason I didn't really like this is because the second book ended on a very high note and it could easily serve as the ending to the series.

This third book tackles a plot point introduced towards the end of the second one, and the thing is, the particular plot just wasn't interesting or original enough to dedicate a whole final book to it. It was repetitive and it dragged - as if the author was just filling the book with words to finish it.

I've always thought Adelina and her darkness was incredibly well-handled and well-written in the previous two books. But in this one, her characterisation was all over the place, I could barely recognise her.

The only thing I liked was the ending which I think was quite poetic and satisfying. But god, I wish this book never existed. I like to think that this series ended at The Rose Society.

I loved this book and if I’m being honest I totally cried at the end. I only wish there was more

I really need to make a "shook" shelf now
