This is a solid hockey romance. I like everything this author writes, so it's not a surprise that I liked this one, too. Not my favorite of his, but a good book regardless.

Honestly, this book was too romantic for my pessimistic ass, and it was annoying that I could only read when I was connected to wifi because I’m dumb and don’t know a single word of French so I had to rely on the translator which often doesn’t work anyway

Review for an ARC

Like any great romance, hockey is packed with both uplifting and heartbreaking moments. This hockey romance was packed to the brim with both. You don't need to be a hockey fan to enjoy the story, but if you are one, those on the edge of your seat, screaming at your book moments will happen frequently. The fact that Tal Bauer's books always include at least one gut-wrenching moment isn't much of a secret. Add in the inherent drama and dangers of hockey, and you can expect an incredibly emotional scene.

The author's ability to share the main character's experiences with such vivid detail makes it almost impossible for the reader to separate themselves from the story. The beautifully constructed connection between Hunter and Bryce once again showcases just how engaging Tal Bauer's characters can become. I was so invested in their connection that I was actually cheering for Montreal and cursing the team of my home state. I don't cheer for Montreal hockey... ever.

I enjoyed every word of this book. The romance was sweet. The inclusion of French dialogue and phrases added depth to the characters and hockey culture. The scenes with game play were exhilarating, and the story was so engaging that I know I will be rereading it more than once just to catch any moments that I missed because I was rushing to the end.
