I probably would have appreciated this more in its original form on ao3 - then at least I’d have access to richer characterization and lore. Otherwise just didn't connect with it at all

I was honestly planning to leave a long review, but I have changed my mind. What I will say is that this book had so much potential, but the author ruined it. A lot of things didn’t make sense. For example, Hunter’s feelings for Bryce developed at such a fast pace that it was jarring and unrealistic. He went from hero worship to falling in love in just three days, with no exploration or reflection on his sexuality despite always identifying as straight.
And what was up with Bryce’s reaction to Hunter’s hesitation after the kiss? It was like he expected Hunter to respond enthusiastically, as if kissing someone you've known for three days is completely normal.
I’m done and yes it kinda of long but it was going to be longer because this book disappointedme way too much😭. Also, the French please It was annoying having to translate random words, especially when they were unnecessarily thrown in. Lay off the French next time😔.

This book read like a love letter to hockey and to Quebec but it also became a story about two men who I wanted nothing more than to cheer for as I feel in love with them too. Beautifully written and just a gorgeous story.
