I didn’t like this book. It was okay, but I didn’t like how there were multiple POVs and it didn’t tell you when it switched, you had to figure it out yourself, and some POVs were third person and then there was one that was in first person which I didn’t like. The plot was fine for like a third of the book then it got boring. I got this book from BOTM and I didn’t realize until I started reading it that’s it’s the third in the series. I don’t think you HAVE to  read the other books but because I didn’t I felt like I was missing things. Also I really hate that BOTM has options that are technically part of series and they aren’t more clear about it

DNFed on page 200 of a 250-page book. A strong premise but absolute bore after the first twist. For such a short novel, it really slogged on and on.

What a piece of literature!
The twists were so unexpected but everything ended up making sense as well

This wasn’t as interesting as Every Vow You Break. I think that was due to the storyline and not the writing style. I’m reaching for Eight Perfect Murders next.

Huh…?!
This book was disappointing on so many levels. From the plot twist to the way the storyline was structured, everything felt disjointed and poorly executed. The characters lacked depth and meaningful back stories, making it hard to connect with or care about their journey. The entire narrative came off as wacky and inconsistent.

And that ending... it was beyond disappointing and downright confusing. It felt like it didn’t even belong to the rest of the book—almost as if it were a last-minute, bizarre idea thrown in or a poor attempt to inject a plot into an otherwise plotless story. Rather than tying things together, it left me wondering what the point of it all was.

Here’s the thing with Peter Swanson—he’s a hit-or-miss author. When he’s good, he delivers a masterpiece. But when he’s off, it’s a complete flop, and unfortunately, this book falls firmly into the latter category. There seems to be no in-between with him.
