Please consider this a review for the series. It was good, had some parts where the writing made me stop and be like, wait that doesn’t make sense. But overall, quality. Also. Maybe there is magic and things that are not like this real world but there is also a pandemic, and bigotry, and government who just doesn’t fight for the people, and that’s pretty real....and the fight to remember all people are just people, believe and spread the good. The end.

I loved the start of this series, but not so much this book. Everything was black and white. The good people pure in spirit, motivation aligned with the light of the universe, perfect communal relationships, laughter, love, kumbaya. The bad evil, self-serving, child murdering, torturing, stupid, demented. This story felt hollow. I’m disappointed.

Worth the read to finish out the series. This is predictable, light fantasy. The narrative follows a few key routines - training, battle, regroup, along with Fallon being “The One” and dealing with all the burdens and responsibilities that come with that role. Battles between good and evil, light and dark, are always intriguing to me, and this book came my way at a time
when I needed a “brain break,” but there’s not the highly detailed, world building I sometimes like to see.

This was way too long

Was a good ending to the trilogy, however as much as I loved the first book, the second was good and although this one was good, I felt it lacked a lot of the character development you saw in the first book. Some of the characters you grow attached to are barely mentioned or seen in the third book. Also, in a war there are always casualties but it seemed like the author went out of her way to avoid killing off any beloved characters unlike other dystopian novels who don’t shy away from that. It was almost like she didn’t want to anger her readers the way some other trilogies have done which is nice but makes the war somewhat unrealistic and too easily won. The only real death that affects the reader was in the first book, which I still feel is the best of the three.

I feel like this book was a great ending to a good story. I truly enjoyed listening to Fallon‘s story, and all the triumphs throughout this book. I’m not sure where the negativity in some of these reviews come from, because I feel like the story was wrapped up very well. My favorite aspect of the last book was the dragons, and wished those were a little bit more developed. Overall it was a good trilogy to listen to!

Was a fitting end, the way things came together even made me briefly teary. Like I said of the other books - it’s not too in depth, the magick is simple and the world easy to understand.

4.5 because I had to pick up another book in between it felt quite slow in the beginning. This trilogy really took me for a ride and I loved every minute of it. This last book felt like it had so much to get through and that’s why there were so many time jumps. I can forgive that for all the love and strength and friendship the storylines provided me.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first 2 books of the series but the ending just kind of fell flat for me. Very predictable. Writing battles is clearly not get strong suit. Chapters of build up just to be resolved in a few pages. The one big death that did happen, I easily saw coming. Lots of fluff in this book that could have been cut and not had any effect on the story at all. Everyone was so one dimensional. The characters were either black or white with no in between. It would have been great to read from an author that had experience writing large battles but this book played it safe. Too safe. Decent read of you just want some closure to the series but nothing surprising or interesting really happens.
