DNF. I was bored spitless. I'm cool with formulas and tropes, but the endless repetition and tell-not-show left me cold. There was zero chemistry between Fallon and Duncan, and way too much navel gazing. Come on, it's the end of the world... more action, less pondering the nature of good and evil.

Good hopeful series to read. This is volume 3.

It feels like so long ago I read Year One, and in a way, it is. But I still remember the all-encompassing wonder it gave me. I remember being absolutely sucked in the entire book. I loved all the characters and seeing everything from everyone's perspective too. I still loved the second book too but it fell a little short. It felt like it lacked...emotion? I had this feeling in The Rise of Magicks too. It felt very straightforward and sterile. Even the battles were kind of glossed over. Nothing was delved into too deep unless you count the numerous times Fallon had a vision about light this or dark that. Which is okay. But not for half the book. I also think they could have gone back and flushed the relationships back out as they did in the first book, Year One. Especially Fallon and Duncan. Although they seemed to "fated"? I wish there was more. But a solid 3 stars.

4.5 stars. Overall a wonderful ending to this series.

There are no words…a perfect book to end the series. Nora Roberts turned out gold with this trilogy. I already miss all of the characters I’ve come to love so much!

I read the first two of this trilogy last year, and wanted to complete it. I liked this - she traditionally writes romance novels, and this trilogy is definitely not that, despite including some relationships, but they are not the only focus, not like in a romance novel. I liked the premise, I always enjoy her weaving magick into her books, and I loved how she didn't get bogged down into the details of battles - no shame on any writers who do, it is just not the piece that interests me. I enjoy the first person perspective, their feelings, the overwhelm, the blur, which she gets at while flashing through those days.
I think I liked the first of the trilogy best, but that is usual for me - I love stories about forming community, forming family, etc. All three were pleasent, interesting, sad without being overwhelming in the current time. (and they had people deeply connected to ther pets, so when an animal died in the last one, I BAWLED!).

Libby Kindle. A satisfying conclusion.

If Book One was The Stand, Book Two was your fantasy training montage, then Book Three of The Chronicles of The One is the epic battle portion.

Fallon, Duncan, Tonia etc are all now late teens/young adults, grown in a life where the battle between Light and Dark has always been raging. They've never known "normal" lives, and the concept of dating is completely alien to them.

We see them navigating clunky hormones and making adult choices all whilst figuring out grand battle plans to take back America.

I'm pleased that they do touch on what is happening in the rest of the world (briefly) as it was bothering me that it was a worldwide pandemic and "awakening" yet there's been no mention of the same sort of battles in Japan etc. It's like in The Handmaid's Tale - America has become Gilead, but what is the rest of the world doing during this? I presume just pretending it's not happening like we do in the countries where it is currently happening.... Anyway, I digress...

Epic battles, love, loss (I'm NOT OK with one), some mildly dubious rhyming... Exactly the ending you would expect and that it needed.

Na negaliu neigti, man TAIP patinka tokios fantastinės istorijos.
