Loved this compared to book 2, the pace really picked up. Wish the battles were given more detail though as theyre all over real fast without much detail! Was hoping for an epilogue for a glimpse at how things were going in the future but happy with how it ended anyway
I'm not quite sure how I felt about that yet. The resolution to the series was definitely solid, insofar as she wrapped everything up pretty tidily. But I dunno. It didn't Wow me.
It’s nice. Finally completed it. It feels like it’s a slow pace. End can be more dramatic.

4 Stars!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you dig Fantasy- I highly recommend this unique gem of a series!!
I have been an avid reader for years- I tend to lean more towards the romance/fantasy type books. But believe it or not- I never picked up a Nora Roberts book until a few years ago. It was called Obsession. I absolutely adored it- and promised myself I would check out her books again some day.
Well that day finally came when I heard she had a fantasy series coming out - with the first book being Year One. It sounded so good I could not wait to get my hands on it! I fell in love with it and the characters then couldn't wait for the next book to come out! I also really enjoyed book 2 , which took a little detour from the first book- but not too much, it was more of a time jump.
So here we are at Book 3!! I cant believe its finally over! I was so happy with the way Roberts ended this series! All my questions were answered and everything I had hoped for this community of people and New Hope happened!! Cant get any better than that! I look forward to more Nora Roberts in my future and seriously hopes she continues to write more fantasy!

I am very sad to see this series come to an end, as it was probably the first action fantasy I have enjoyed.

I decided to start this from a recommendation from a friend and I am not disappointed!
That being said.... I think this was almost my least favorite of the 3, which makes me sad because closure is crucial in books like these. It's also hard when you have so many moving pieces like characters, battles, etc.
I feel like this book was rushed in the end. The "final battle" was only 8 pages long about and then the closure of everyone was maybe 5. I would have liked to see a 10 years later epilogue and see how everyone is doing.
I also feel like having only 1 main character death was unrealistic.. while death with main characters is sad and traumatizing I feel like it would have brought more thrill and emphasis on the final book.
To end on a positive note.... we got to see a lot more of Fallon and Duncan. We got to see them conquer more cities. We got to see Fallon experience heartbreak and deal with it on her own. We also got to see new characters and alliances that were all fantastic.
Overall - for being a book about magic I was presently surprised how awesome it was. The themes were kindness, courage, action, love, and patience. And now I might actually read more of Nora Roberts books!

Not terrible, but a little disappointing. Loved the first two, but this one had a hard time holding my interest.
