It was too rushed at the end. There was so much anticipation about the war, and it just didn’t do it for me.

This was such a beautiful story, woven through with love and magic, hardships and loss, but most of all love. I followed Fallon from the minute she wad conceived, when the darkness rose over the world and changes it forever. I watched her grow and become a warrior, a woman and a leader. She had great losses and roaring successes. She loved and she lost. A circle of family and friends bound together from the very beginning surrounded her, supported her, believed in her and loved her. It was wobderous and beautiful, magical and dark, simply put it was everything! Unforgettable and never to be forgotten, always cherished and I thank the author for her talent and way with words that moved me to tears and brought me joy and life. A magical trilogy has come to an end and it deserves every star I can give it!

I just wasn't that into this one. I'm glad that I finished the series and I think Roberts ended it well, but I'm just not that into her writing style anymore.

It takes a village....especially in post-apocalyptic America. Rise of the Magicks is a strong finish to a really enjoyable triology. I was struck by the way Nora Roberts portrayed the evolution of every single character, as well as the evolution of community. The battle and love scenes aren’t very intense, as NR focuses more on the human side of things rather than action. This might be a drawback for some folks, but it’s a positive thing for me personally. Thank you to Edelweiss and the publisher for providing an eARC.

Normally I am a huge fan of Nora Roberts. I go in to her books knowing the structure and how it’s going to end. I enjoy that as they are easy reads that take me out of my own head for a while. However, sometimes I wish her books weren’t quite so formulaic. This final book had so much potential but just didn’t do it for me. The whole thing feels rushed and the ending feels like Roberts just wanted to be done with the series and threw some trope and cliches down on the page and called it a day. In a series like this, it feels odd that only 2 major characters die, one of which was a secondary animal character. It just wasn’t realistic that after all the death and destruction from the Doom in the first two books, that Fallon wouldn’t lose more than just one person close to her in the good vs evil battles. I kept waiting for one of her family members to be killed. The final battle scene was a bit of a yawner. Overall, not that impressed, unfortunately.

A wonderful close to this fantastic trilogy. The author took care to build each characters and their goals within the story. I didn’t want this series to end.

What a freaking phenomenal ending to this series. Heart racing action, heartbreaking tender moments, death and healing. The final chapter in the chronicles of the one is well worth a read and the perfect ending to the story of Fallon Swift.

Year One - Five Stars
Of Blood and Bone - Five Stars
The Rise of Magicks - Five Stars
slow-paced

While it wasnt my favorite book in the series it was a good ending that wrapped up all of the loose ends.

Loved the ending to this really great trilogy. One of my favorites from Nora Roberts and I’ve read them all!
