I really enjoyed this trilogy. NR created a really cool fantasy world with great characters. My only complaint is that I didn't feel like she quite had the feel for writing battle sequences. I've read better, I've read worse. But I don't think that took away from the enjoyment of this trilogy. Curious to see how she grows as a writer in this genre with future fantasy books!

It's been a long time since ive been so into a series of books but I've thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy. Fantasy with human nature at its heart.

This Series kept me captivated even to the end. The series was my first introduction to Nora Roberts and I am now hooked. What Fallon, her family and all those close to to her must go through is intense. I love this series and can't wait to read more of her stories.
Easily my least favorite in the series. The writing is too flowery and Fallon often goes on these poetic rants about doing her duty and being the One. There’s also so much talk about a war and not really seeing much of it. We learn a bit through conversations what some people went through at the hands of the enemy, but battles aren’t really fleshed out at all. The ending also passes over battles like a cut scene sometimes. For them being in DC, which for the whole novel has been this big, consuming thing, they sure can waltz around doing pretty much whatever they want with little to fight. This whole novel focused so much on taking D.C. and it was over so quick I had to do a double take. And then they were back doing the final fight at New Hope? What was the hype about D.C. for? And Fallon just went through grief and had to find herself again… why was that off-page? Bringing in dragons confused me, and even if they were shifters the evil dragon had no personality.
A happy ending though.

I loved this book! Loved the series as a whole even more. And yet, I wanted more out of this one. I totally recommend so don’t get me wrong. I just wish there would have been more with Fallon and Duncan. It was so built up from their births and how they were connected, and there was a lot going on, but I needed more between them. Yeah, they ended up together and they were in love, but I don’t know. I expected more. Otherwise, really enjoyed and will def. reread these!
Slowest.Burn.Ever. That’s all I’m going to say on that front, lol. Again, All the characters and stories, I wasn’t sure how it was all going to fit and finish in one last book. I’m glad things weren’t drawn out because that easily could have been done. Also again, the twists and turns and I’m just in love with everyone. This was a great trilogy, one I’m sure I’ll read again. The magickal trilogies of Nora Roberts are my favorite!
