This was a quick read, but it was kind of...boring? There was nothing memorable about this book, and the characterisation of all the old characters seems to have fallen to the wayside. The writing also wasn’t that good, particularly in the scenes towards the end: cutting off in the middle of a fight, not once, not twice, but several times, is just annoying. It doesn’t make the suspense better; in fact, it pulls you out of the hard-earned momentum.

At the conclusion of Lagercrantz’s contribution to the Millenium series, I’m just so content with his continuation of the characters we knew and loved and the writing style that is unique and captivating and research he poured into these works to teach us all a few things while being entertained.

Molt fluix.... no enganxa ni molt menys com els 3 primers, final de la saga amb una trama poc creible i massa acció esbojarrada...

Still thoroughly entertaining but the main characters do seem to be ever more tangential to the main narrative.
Unfortunately, for me, this was the weakest link in the whole series so far. Despite the potential to be exciting and revealing, Lisbeth’s part in the story felt weak and anti-climactic. The parallel mystery/investigation was intriguing enough, so I did enjoy the book; it was just not up to the same caliber as Larsson’s or even Lagercrantz’s other novels.
