The best book in the new trilogy of the series...there were a lot of names to follow w and the characters were sometimes lost in the process but otherwise enjoyable.

I do feel like Lisbeth Salander has become too much of an action star than the hacker we once knew.

I enjoyed this, found it to be a good end to the series.
Lizbeth Salander will always hold a special place in my heart, as this series was the first Swedish Crime novel that I had ever read, and it is the reason I began reading more translated novels!

A really excellent installment in the Millennium series. Lisbeth Salander faces off with her sister, while Mikael Blomkvist faces off with criminal elements and helps bring closure to a heartbreaking case involving the Minister of Defence, a Sherpa, and some bad guys. This book pulled me right in from the beginning. Sometimes these books feature too many characters for me to follow, but this book had 'just the right amount', in my opinion.

Pop Sugar 2019 Reading Challenge #13 - A book published posthumously. (For Steig Larsson)

Not a standout from the series, but I still love Lisbeth Salander I think David Lagercrantz has done an impressive job capturing the voice of Stieg Larsson.

This wasn't much about the "Girl" and much more about Mikael and sa deep look into the identity and past of a random homeless person who dies. Honestly, does the Swedish police have nothing better to do than spend all that time and energy to identify a corpse like that? Seems truly odd. But of course that is the basis of this story that seems to tie in odd seemingly disjointed events. It all seems a bit too pat and the majorly absent Lisbeth doesn't help. I feel like Mr. Lagercrantz faltered here. He wanted a Millennium book but didn't have enough of a concept to fill the pages.

I wanted this to be better than it was. Such a disappointment, although I’ve been alright with the Lagercrantz continuation—this one falls way short of anything that’s come before.

A watered down Lisbeth Salander is barely in the book, instead nudged out by an overly bloated conspiracy plot.

*le sigh*

Love this series

Great ending to a fantastic series. Lisbeth's & Mikael's relationship is one of such respect, understanding & care. Looking forward to watching the movies.

The Girl Who Lived Twice is a bit disjointed and Salander seems a bit muddled and muted as a character in this outing. She is supposed to be the most interesting part of the book but honestly I felt like the Sherpa story and what happened on the failed expedition was more riveting. I was able to read it pretty quickly and it kept me engaged but it wasn't as satisfying as previous novels. Here's to hoping the next one is better.

(3.5, why doesn't Goodreads allow half stars?!)

As much as I love the characters of Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist it just may be time for me to let these characters go. I absolutely devoured the original trilogy so I was excited when more books with these characters were announced. That being said I find myself enjoying these books less and less.

While I have nothing against the new author (he did have some big shoes to fill) there just seems to be something missing. These aren't the same characters I loved and cared about. It almost feel like we are given clones of these characters. Sure they may look familiar but many of the things that made them who they were are missing.

Not sure if the author plans on writing anymore Millennium books but I can't for sure see myself picking up anymore in the future. I may change my mind but I guess only time will tell.
