I have officially read all of Sally Rooney’s books. I shall rate them here from my favorite to least favorite.

This was my favorite Sally Rooney I’ve read. To be fair, the ending confused me in so many ways, but I also could not put it down.
binge read; endo and alcoholism seemed disconnected
I would read Sally Rooney’s grocery list if I could. Everything I’ve read of hers is compelling and deeply human. Like Francis, Rooney’s ability to make extremely flawed, complicated, and morally ambiguous characters gets me every time. I am not sure what this says about me but I think I like feeling guilty for finding sympathy for (and even relating to) her characters. I am not sure exactly how I feel about the last ending of the book, though I do know that I don’t entirely like it- so 4 stars.
I related to Frances on such personal levels at times. I basically am Frances, minus the affair and the knowledge and the ambition. I hated these characters. I wanted to be more like them. I hated how much I am like then. It was a very interesting experience, it made me realise I missed contemporary fiction and it's pretentiousness and rawness. I also loved the formating and pace - reading the dialogue was incredibly pleasant. Would be a great book to come back to in a few years to see how my perspective has shifted.

It took me a good 60 pages to say I was starting to get hooked and the pace can be a little slow sometimes. And yet, I never wanted to DNF the book I think I stuck around because of the characters and I did get a similar raw feel out of this book as I did normal people.
