Although it involves travel, this book is much more of a character study than an adventure. The three or four main characters could not have been more different and yet they completely complement each other. This book is packed full of wit and humorous eccentricity. Deliciously dark and delightful read!

What an odd book. I found this on a list of "Comfort Reads" from some book blog or another, and I had liked the only other Greene book I'd read, The End of the Affair, so I thought I'd try this one. I don't know that I'd call it a "comfort read," although it certainly isn't heavy. It's just... odd. And very British, which is just the sort of thing I like. :)

A fun tale. I went to see it as a play in Salisbury not long afterwards

Hmmm... Didn't find this novel particularly enjoyable and I must admit the so-called humour was a bit lost on me. I persevered hoping for an interesting conclusion but was disappointed
