I used to love Emily Giffin’s books, but they have recently been falling flat for me. A horrible event happens at the beginning, and what follows is a nice premise — but

—it’s not that believable how they can just pick up and pay for a random trip abroad
—I listen to part of this through the audiobook and it drove me crazy with, “he said”; “she said”. The audiobook had different voices, so that was unnecessary and write the book better to not have that
—everything was just wrapped up into a nice bow at the end, and even when she was blackmailing Grady and the other girl
—just not that suspenseful/exciting of what was happening next

I liked the premise of the book and love stories about friendships. I was NOT expecting Summer's story at the beginning. I did like hearing perspectives from all the different friends.

I liked the idea of the story but the execution felt a little bit off to me. I felt like the Olivia storyline was rushed. She could have just been Lainey's sister, and it all felt a little too convenient. Same with the issues with Lainey. You knew her crash would come but it came at 92% of the way into the book.

It just felt like so many things in this book were plot of convenience and not realistic.

A year late, but Emily does it again. Summer, Hannah, Lainey, and Tyson — we all have our own version of them. Those besties from college who become your chosen family through adulthood. A beautiful story about the power of friendship through the highs and lows that come throughout life.

It was fine. Ending good. Characters kinda codependent.

This was really bad, idk why I forced myself to finish it.
At first I thought Tyson liked Hannah because it appeared like he literally hated Lainey, the switch up to them hooking up was so weird. The ending was maybe the cheesiest most unrealistic thing I’ve ever read
I like stupid escapist books but this was a level of stupid that even I couldn’t handle.
