I loved the last sentence. “Life is a poem, I’m going to write it.” (taking from Life is a Song) But honestly the whole book was good.
maybe yoshi should've returned to sell photos of izumi and akio again / j ( i love you eriku tho )
I think the first book was better, but this review is awhile after i read so..

A fun time over all, and a fun audiobook to listen to. At first I wasn't rooting for Akio and Izumi just because Akio is so one dimensional, but I guess them getting together is fiiiine *rolls eyes*

Izumi is in a happy relationship with her former bodyguard, Akio, and her parents have also reconnected and are engaged. Unfortunately, there is some pushback when it comes to both relationships, so Izumi takes it upon herself to become the perfect princess and wow the public, but at what cost?
I devoured this book even faster than I did the first book. Emiko Jean’s style of writing is effortless and fast paced.
Izumi is still the same as she was in TEA (that’s Tokyo Ever After, not actual tea), a very dedicated woman. This time she is on a mission to prove herself so her parents can get their happily ever after, but also struggles with how what’s expected of her conflicts as an individual. The inclusion of her mother’s similar struggle adds to it all. How far can you go to impress others while still maintaining your own values?
I also liked how Izumi’s relationship with the Shining Twins, Akiko and Noriko, was finally smoothed over. I’d been waiting for that since TEA.
I wish there was some more we could have seen, as I feel the ending and epilogue were rushed and left a bit to be desired. And this may be up to the author, but wouldn’t be opposed to a third book.
