5 stars.

listen should these books actually be rated 5 stars? probably not, but the way they cater to me personally means i will ignore anything that slightly annoyed me and rate it 5 stars anyway. i'm obsessed with izumi and this series, wouldn't be mad if there was a third one *looks pointedly*
lighthearted fast-paced

I think I just don’t like love triangles. I couldn’t even decide which side to pick. I did like how it ended with her parents though because they were really cute.

4.5 only because she didn't end up with eriku

This is a worthy sequel of Tokyo Ever After. Izumi is trying to find her sea legs as a princess, her mom is trying to navigate new possibilities, and then Akio makes a sudden change. Plus, The Shining Twins are in her life again...and there might be a fake dating scheme in there? This book was a fun, fast read, and a welcome distraction from real life. Definitely less The Bodyguard and more To All the Boys I Loved Before.

4/5 - Cute, a bit angsty, but definitely ended where I thought it would.

Some parts felt a bit juvenile but I actually ended up liking both love interests despite adamantly rooting for one. So in the end, I’m glad she ended up with who I wanted.

I would probably read this again. It was a really fun duology.
